PRIVACY

How is your audio handled?

Short version: microphone audio is analysed live in this browser. PitchDetector.cc does not record, store, or upload your microphone audio.

Microphone access

The detector only requests microphone access after you choose “Start detecting”. The browser controls this permission, and you can revoke it at any time in your browser settings. Audio samples are processed temporarily in memory to estimate pitch and are discarded as the detector continues.

What stays on your device

Your live audio, detected notes, frequencies, cents readings, selected voice guide, calibration, and session history stay in the current browser session. The session history is not sent to our servers and disappears when you clear it or leave the page.

Analytics

If a Google Analytics measurement ID is configured, the site may use GA4 to understand anonymous traffic and tool events such as starting or stopping the detector. Analytics does not receive microphone audio, detected notes, frequencies, voice guides, or device labels from the pitch detector. You can decline or change this choice below. Changing the setting does not affect the detector.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses browser storage to remember your analytics choice. It does not require an account or use storage to build a personal pitch profile. Your browser may also maintain standard technical data needed to load the site.

Third-party links

The site may link to external references such as NIST. Those sites have their own privacy practices and are not controlled by PitchDetector.cc.
